Orphie
Can I download Orphie yet?
Not yet. Orphie is in development for iPhone and Android and isn’t in the App Store or Google Play. This page is updated when that changes.
How does Orphie log my miles?
Tap Start shift when your work begins. Orphie uses your phone’s location to count business miles while the shift runs. Tap Pause for personal driving and Resume when you’re back on the job. Tap End shift when you’re done, check the summary, and tap Save shift.
Why does Orphie ask for location access “Always”?
So it can keep counting miles when your screen locks during a shift. Orphie only uses location while a shift is running. It stops when you pause or end the shift, and it never tracks you between shifts.
Where is my data kept?
On your phone. Orphie has no account and no sign-in, and the app never sends your trips, locations, or vehicle details to us or anyone else. If your phone’s own backup (iCloud Backup or Android Backup) is on, it may include Orphie’s data in your Apple or Google account. The Privacy Policy has the details.
Can I edit or delete a saved shift?
No. Orphie keeps saved shifts exactly as they were recorded, because a mileage log is only useful at tax time if it was written down when you drove. You can delete a vehicle that has no shifts. To remove everything, delete the app.
Is the estimated deduction tax advice?
No. It’s your business miles multiplied by the IRS standard mileage rate for the date of the shift, shown as an estimate. Orphie keeps records; it doesn’t give tax or legal advice. Ask a tax professional about your own return.
Can I export my records for my tax preparer?
Not yet. Export isn’t in the current version. We’ll describe it here when it ships.
Which languages does Orphie support?
English and Spanish.
Sold By Robots and QuickBooks Sync
Both are business software offered to merchants by invitation. Sold By Robots is a web platform, and QuickBooks Sync is in private beta as a Shopify app and a WooCommerce plugin. If you already have access, send us a message with your store or workspace name and what you were trying to do. The same form works for asking about access.
